KINGSTON, Jamaica – In what could be a defining effort, the US bred Excessive Force with ease took the eighth race by over seven lengths.
With the in-form Linton Steadman in the saddle for many times champion trainer Philip Feanny, Excessive Force who was gunning for his second win from five starts while toting top weight of 126 lb, waited until about a furlong in the contest was run off before taking the lead and immediately the others were left in his wake.
In the stretch, Excessive Force moved further and further away to clock a time of 1:32.1 for the distance.
Awesome Treasure (Dane Nelson) was second - 7 1/2 lengths behind with Let Him Fly (Oshane Nugent) finishing third.
