KINGSTON, Jamaica – The surging form of jockey Anthony Thomas continued on the 10-race Sunday (September 6) card at Caymanas Park when he completed a double on Nevada in day's seventh event.

Nevada won a Restricted Allowance 1V contest for four-year-olds and upwards – non-winners of three – travelling five furlongs round.

It was a wild sprinting feud involving three horses, Unknown Soldier (Aaron Chatrie), Mystic Mama (Chris Mamdeen) and Heiroffire (Roger Hewitt).

At this stage, Thomas had Nevada well positioned in fourth about two to three lengths behind the leaders.

When the leading horses entered the straight, it was still a wide open contest but Thomas found adequate space on the inside rails as Nevada started to push forward.

Thereafter, Nevada took control winning by three lengths.

Second was Unknown Soldier with Heirofire holding third.

Nevada is trained by Owen Sharpe.
