KINGSTON, Jamaica – Even early interference which caused jockey Dane Nelson (Warrior Chief) to check sharply could not stop Legality from winning the fifth event on the Caymanas Sunday card a short while ago.

Nelson after pulling back his mount in the $1 million - $900,000 Optional Claimer (5 ½ furlongs) did not rush but guided Legality along a clear path and with a bustling and strong effort in the straight got Legality to find top gear for the win.

Trained by champion Anthony Nunes, Legality recorded a time of 1:06.1 for the distance.

Mr Universe (Dick Cardenas) was second with 6-5 favourite Drummer Boy (Anthony Thomas) third.

Drummer Boy pitched at the start and was never able to recover.

Legality was Nelson second winner thus far on the Sunday programme.

He is now eight behind leader Anthony Thomas in the race for jockeys’ honours.
