Calculus impresses on debut as Dane Nelson complete his triple, Anthony Nunes doubles up

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Calculus, a two-year-old bay colt by Sensational Slam – Trinket Box got his career off to a flying start with a convincing victory in a maiden juvenile contest run over six furlongs.

Calculus ridden by Dane Nelson and trained by champion Anthony Nunes, surged from mid-pack after getting sand flashed in his face to be in touch with the leaders when they entered the last two furlongs.

Thereafter Calculus picked up and drew away from rivals to win by 2 ¾ in a final time of 1:13.1.

Second was Action Ann (Omar Walker) with third the position occupied by Sir John.

Calculus was the third winner thus far for Dane Nelson who is now only three wins behind Anthony Nunes in the jockeys’ championship.

Nunes was having his second winner as he pushes further ahead of Wayne DaCosta in the trainers’ race.
