KINGSTON, Jamaica -  Maintaining a strong and determined gallop throughout Broken Light racing for the second time won the first three-year-old race of 2021.

Broken Light with champion apprentice Oshane Nugent in the saddle took early advantage of the outside draw in the field of seven runners to be the early in front tracked by Sudden Flight (Anthony Thomas).

The two took control of the race leaving the others way behind as Broken Light (Liquidity – Heart Throb) trained by Gary Griffiths suddenly moved from the outside getting closer to the inside rails in mid-race as Sudden Flight continued to harass.

Nugent pushing hard brought Broken Light in front when the winning post arrived to win by three parts of a length over Sudden Flight. Colorado Ranger also trained by Griffiths was third.

The final time was 47.1.
