Ajita releases maiden tag, wins race number 9 on 1000 Guineas day

KINGSTON, Jamaica – After nine attempts Ajita – a three-year-old chestnut filly by Traditional – Lady Disdain was able to claim her first race victory. That win came in race number nine on the Caymanas Park 1000 Guineas race day a short while ago.

Ajita ridden by Paul “Country” Francis and trained by Fitznahum “Features” Williams watched in the cat bird’s seat as Rain Drops (Chris Mamdeen) set the early fractions in the 5 ½ furlongs contest restricted to local bred three-year-olds.

Then the inform Francis had enough and he pushed Ajita through. Ajita responded by shooting to the front and after that it was a race for second which went to Cold Pursuit with the third spot being occupied by Chennai Express.

The winning time was 1:07.0.
