KINGSTON, Jamaica – Champion jockey Christopher Mamdeen who has not been having the best of times since the resumption of racing on June 20 built his confidence with a win aboard Mr Ambassador.
That win came in the third race on the 10-race card now taking place at Caymanas Park.
The event was an Optional Claimer ($550,000 - $500,000) run over 5 ½ furlongs.
The race turned out to be a straight duel between Mr Ambassador and Raw Liquid with Dane Nelson aboard.
With Raw Liquid on the inside and Mr Ambassador close by on the outside, the two battled tooth and nail for about a furlong with Mr Ambassador under vigourous urging getting the better where it mattered most.
Raw Liquid was second and Awesome Aviator third.
